The Netherlands is renowned for its open and liberal approach to sex. This stands in stark contrast to more conservative attitudes found in many other parts of the world, including other European countries.

By addressing sexual health from a young age, Dutch society fosters a healthier and more open attitude toward sex.

Legal and Regulated Prostitution in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is one of the few countries where they have legalized and regulated prostitution.This pragmatic approach ensures that the law protects sex workers and they enjoy better working conditions and legal rights. Legalizing and regulating prostitution not only safeguards the rights of workers but also helps reduce the stigma surrounding the profession, treating it as a legitimate form of work rather than a moral issue.

LGBTQ+ Rights and Equality in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is a global leader in LGBTQ+ rights. As the first country to legalize same-sex marriage in 2001, it has long been a champion of equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Unlike other countries, people do not use LGBTQ+ rights in the Netherlands as political pawns. Instead, people see them as a natural and normal aspect of human diversity.

Dutch society places a high value on tolerance and pragmatism. This practical approach is reflected in their open and non-judgmental attitudes toward sex and sexuality. In the Netherlands, people treat sex as less of a taboo subject. Open discussions about sexual health, relationships, and identity are common among the Dutch in both the media and everyday conversations. This culture of acceptance helps to normalize sexual topics and promotes a healthier, more informed public discourse.
